E MIHI KAU
In April 2012 the shared love for Koro Ruapehu drew a group of local community members, organisations and families into one room together to dream about what we wanted for ourselves
and our shared futures. We call this group the Ruapehu Whānau Transformation
Community Reference Group.
These people have been the foundation architects of a movement which became a transformation project for their communities of Raetihi, Ohakune and Waiouru. They have led us
with their strength and have grown in number and ability to imagine, dream, inspire and
create action to achieve true collective impact.
They have been ever-present and we want to formally acknowledge them through the
ongoing implementation of our solutions.
We now have new members who bring a fresh perspective and energy and in implementing our 2018 plan, we hope to create new opportunities for succession. The Community Reference Group will always be a coalition of the willing, power and authority that has been bought to this kaupapa and which is evident in our achievements to date. Into the future we will continue to build off of this willingness as weall move forward together to implement our second plan by 2020.
We must also thank Te Puni Kokiri, the Ministry for Māori Development, for their continued support and belief in our kaupapa and our people
